There are many among us who feel they are educated, even enlightened. Many may even feel they have a clear vision of the world we live, what is going on, and how things are changing. If you are an adult, if you are a parent or mentor your people and you are not fully aware of the scope of what this video presents, ask yourself a simple question: Are you really doing the children you mentor justice with the guidance & insight you are giving them? …and this is just one facet of the education/enlightenment conversation we need to be having…

Greetings and thank you again for another informative “Blog.” I am reading this at the end of the year 2010. So now, I am profoundly aware of the exponential changes that must have occurred since this article was written… and the clock is still ticking! As a parent and educator, you have presented an awesome task before me! When you combine this article With another post of yours- Why Love Matters: How affection shapes a baby’s brain: http://electronicdrum.wordpress.com/2004/07/17/minding-the-baby/ -knowing that you can shape the future outcome of a child within the first 2 months of their lives is a daunting task and responsibility. We must produce global thinkers. This reminds me of a documentary that I watched 2 million minutes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=niU1E3SSTAM

Brother Khepera; I did notice what I think is a critical oversight in the film; “Did You Know.” It was disturbing to note the complete absence of the African continent and the participation of African countries in the statistics that were presented. Many African countries, although free from colonial rule, still maintain high a academic discipline of education which is a remnant of the prior European presence in their country. There are many African scholars who are graduating with doctorates and PhD’s from prestigious universities in Europe as well as the United States.
